Offshore Species
Sailfish
During peak season—from December to April—anglers often experience 15 to 30 bites per day, with skilled crews frequently releasing double digits. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to the sport, Guatemala delivers an unmatched billfish experience.
MARLIN
Blue marlin are present most of the year, with increased chances during the warmer months. Boats regularly raise multiple marlin in a day. Stripe marlin are commonly released. Black marlin are caught but are not a routinely as blue and stripe marlin.
Tuna
Large yellowfin tuna patrol Guatemala’s offshore waters, with some fish reaching over 250 pounds. The average yellowfin is in the range of 40-100 pounds. Tuna can be found in open water or around schools of spinner dolphins and floating objects.
MAHI-MAHI
